1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
User Content
We store videos you upload, clips generated from those videos, and any audio files you add. Video content is stored on Amazon S3 and associated metadata is stored in our database.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers or payment method details. We receive transaction confirmations and subscription status from Stripe.
Social Media Tokens
When you connect social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter/X), we store encrypted OAuth tokens to publish content on your behalf. These tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption (Fernet symmetric encryption) and are only decrypted in-memory when making API calls to the respective platforms.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the Service, including videos processed, clips created, and features used. This helps us improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process videos and generate clips using AI analysis
- Publish content to your connected social media accounts at your direction
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send transactional emails (e.g., payment confirmations, processing notifications)
- Monitor and prevent abuse of the Service
- Respond to support requests
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate ClipX:
- Supabase — Authentication and database hosting
- Amazon Web Services (S3) — Video and media file storage
- Google Gemini — AI-powered video analysis for clip suggestions
- Stripe — Payment processing
- Resend — Transactional email delivery
- YouTube Data API — Channel monitoring and video metadata
- TikTok, Instagram (Meta), YouTube, Twitter/X APIs — Social media publishing
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using industry-standard security practices. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission. OAuth tokens for social media accounts are encrypted at rest. Database access is secured with row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. Videos and clips are stored until you delete them or close your account. When you disconnect a social media account, we delete the associated tokens. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data and account
- Disconnect social media accounts at any time
- Export your clips and data
- Withdraw consent for data processing (which may limit Service functionality)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our Support page.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your authentication session and preferences (such as theme selection). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
