YouTube Shorts Generator
Turn long YouTube videos into Shorts without scrubbing the timeline. ClipX imports the source, suggests the best short segments, and formats clips for vertical mobile viewing.
One free video a day. No credit card. Cancel any time.
How it works
Paste a YouTube URL you own
Use a public/unlisted YouTube video that you own or have rights to repurpose. ClipX also supports uploaded files when your source is not on YouTube.
Choose your clip length
Pick a target range for Shorts-style clips so the AI looks for complete ideas that fit the length you want.
Select the best suggestions
Review ranked clips with timestamps and summaries, then open the strongest candidates in the editor.
Export vertical Shorts
Add captions, tune crop, and preview the clip. Exporting the MP4 needs Pro, which also removes the watermark and outro.
What you get
- YouTube link import plus file-upload fallback
- Ranked Shorts candidates from long-form videos
- Captions built for muted mobile viewers
- Vertical 9:16, square, portrait, and horizontal export options
- Watermarked free exports; Pro removes branding
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a public/unlisted YouTube link you own or have rights to use?
ClipX works with public YouTube videos that are available for processing. You should only repurpose videos you own or have rights to use.
Does ClipX make the Shorts automatically?
ClipX automatically suggests and scores Shorts candidates, then you choose which clips to export. This keeps quality control in your hands while removing most manual searching.
Can I upload the video instead of using a YouTube link?
Yes. You can upload common video formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, and AVI.
Can free accounts export clips?
No — free accounts process, edit and preview. Pro unlocks unlimited exports and removes the animated ClipX watermark and branded outro, for clean client or channel exports.
