GTA 6 Clip Maker

Turn Grand Theft Auto VI streams into 9:16 videos for TikTok, Shorts and Instagram Reels. Paste a finished broadcast link, and ClipX ranks the moments worth posting, stacks the streamer's webcam over the game and writes the captions. Free accounts get one video every day, at most 3 hours long.

Clippers are who this is for: people who cut long streams into short vertical videos, for their own pages or for a streamer's clipping program. Grand Theft Auto VI has a release date of November 19, 2026, and launch streams of a game this size run for hours. The moments worth posting are spread thin across them. A three-hour session might hold five good clips, and finding them by hand means watching the whole thing at double speed and scrubbing back to every reaction.

ClipX does that first pass for you. Paste the VOD link and it transcribes what the streamer says, looks for moments that have a setup and a payoff, and ranks them. Your time goes to the parts that need a person: choosing what to post, tightening the first second and writing the post caption.

One rule before you start: clip streamers who allow it. Many streamers welcome clippers or run a clipping program with written rules; others do not want their streams reposted. ClipX has you state that the stream is yours or that its owner said yes before any processing starts.

How it works

1

Find a streamer who wants clippers

Look for streamers who run a clipping program, keep a clips channel on their Discord, or say in their channel info that clippers are welcome. Read their rules on tagging, sounds and where you may post before you cut anything.

2

Copy the VOD link after the stream

Wait until the broadcast has ended and the VOD is saved. On Twitch, the address looks like twitch.tv/videos/ and a number. On YouTube, use the live replay or the uploaded video. Kick VODs work too.

3

Paste it into ClipX

Sign in, paste the link and confirm you may use the stream. Choose Gaming / stream as the content type if ClipX has not picked it already, and keep Auto as the length. Free accounts process one stream every day, at most 3 hours long. Pro accepts broadcasts of up to 12 hours, processed in sections of at most 3 hours that you choose.

4

Review, fix and export

Work down the ranked list, strongest clip first. Trim the opening, correct any caption word the transcript misheard (in-game names are the usual ones) and export each clip as a 1080×1920 MP4 on Pro.

What you get

  • Vertical 1080×1920 MP4s from Twitch VODs, YouTube live replays and Kick VODs
  • Facecam + Video layout: the streamer's webcam in the top half, GTA in the bottom half
  • Gaming selection rules: the streamer's voice outranks in-game dialogue, and every pick holds its lead-up and its reaction
  • Captions timed to each spoken word, with styles to pick from and text you can correct
  • Length on Auto, or fixed at Short, Medium or Long
  • Free plan: streams up to 3 hours. Pro: up to 12 hours, clipped in parts

What is confirmed about GTA 6

Rockstar Games has set the release of Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That date is the only thing this page relies on. Details of the game beyond what Rockstar has shown are not confirmed, so we do not guess at them here.

What you can plan for is the stream side. In launch week, a lot of channels will be streaming their first playthrough at the same time, and first reactions are what people search for. Clippers who already know their workflow on launch day spend that week posting instead of learning a tool.

Facecam on top, gameplay below

Most GTA streams are a 16:9 game capture with a small webcam in one corner. A straight centre crop to 9:16 loses either the streamer or the car chase. Facecam + Video divides the 9:16 frame instead: webcam at the top, game at the bottom, so the viewer sees the reaction and the reason for it in the same frame.

ClipX finds the webcam box on its own when the overlay has clear edges and stays in one spot. If the camera has no border, or moves between scenes, drag the top crop into place yourself; you only do it once per clip. For cutscenes or segments where the camera is off, switch that clip to Full Fit + Title, which shows the whole frame with a hook line above it.

Which moments make good GTA clips

ClipX picks moments from what is said, so it ranks highest the stretches where the streamer reacts, explains or argues with chat. In an open-world game, that covers most of what people share:

  • A plan announced out loud that falls apart, from the plan to the fallout.
  • First reactions to a new place, vehicle or story twist.
  • A bit set up by chat or a co-streamer, and the streamer's answer.
  • Chases and shootouts the streamer narrates while they happen.
  • Failures that get a big reaction: a crash, a missed jump, an escape that goes wrong.

Before you paste a link

  • Live broadcasts are turned away. Paste the VOD once the stream has ended and Twitch or YouTube has saved it.
  • Subscriber-only and members-only VODs cannot be opened. Ask the streamer for a public VOD, or use a file they send you (MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM files of 500 MB or less).
  • Twitch removes past broadcasts after a while, so clip launch streams soon after they end.
  • Quiet driving with music on gives ClipX little to rank. Streamers who talk give the most clips.
  • ClipX does not read the HUD, the minimap or mission text on screen. It works from speech and reactions.

Clipping for a streamer's program

Some streamers and brands pay clippers through clipping programs. Payment is usually tied to views or to approved clips, and every program has its own rules: some want the streamer named in the post caption, some ban certain sounds or watermarks, and most only count clips posted from accounts they have approved. Read the rules before your first post.

Pro exports carry no ClipX watermark, which matters when a program asks for clean clips. ClipX does not run clipping programs, pay clippers or track views for payouts. It is the tool you cut the clips with. The full guide walks through the whole routine, from picking streamers to a posting schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Is the GTA 6 clip maker free?

You can process one video a day for free, up to 3 hours long, and edit and preview every clip ClipX finds. Exporting finished clips needs Pro: $4.99 for the first month, then $20/month, or $200/year. Pro has unlimited videos and exports, with no watermark.

Can I clip GTA 6 before it comes out?

There are no GTA 6 gameplay streams before November 19, 2026. Until then, practise on GTA 5 and GTA RP streams. The layout, the editing and the posting routine are the same, so you start launch week ready.

Am I allowed to clip someone else's GTA stream?

Only with the streamer's permission. Many streamers welcome clippers or run a clipping program with written rules. Follow those rules, and follow the rules of TikTok, YouTube and Instagram on reposted content. ClipX will not process a video until you have said it is yours or that you are allowed to use it.

The stream is 8 hours long. What do I do?

Pro takes broadcasts of up to 12 hours. Choose a section of at most 3 hours, process it, then paste the same link again for the next section. On the free plan, anything longer than 3 hours is refused.

Can ClipX post my GTA clips for me?

On Pro, ClipX can publish straight to YouTube Shorts. For TikTok and Instagram Reels, export the MP4 and post it from the TikTok or Instagram app.

Is ClipX connected to Rockstar Games?

No. ClipX is an independent video clipping tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
