GTA 5 and GTA RP Clip Maker
Cut GTA 5 roleplay and GTA Online streams into Shorts, TikToks and Reels. Give ClipX the VOD from Twitch, YouTube or Kick and it picks out the scenes that stand on their own, keeps the facecam in frame and captions every line. One free video a day, up to 3 hours long.

GTA RP suits clipping because most of it is talk. Streamers play characters on roleplay servers, and one session can hold a police chase, a heist planned out loud, a courtroom argument and a running joke that lasts twenty minutes. ClipX finds moments from speech, so a talk-heavy RP stream gives it a lot to work with.
The hard part of RP clipping is context. A scene only lands when the viewer knows who is talking and why it matters. With the gaming rules, ClipX grows a clip backwards to take in the setup and forwards to take in the reaction, so a scene starts where it starts and not halfway through an argument.
Clip streamers who allow it. Many RP streamers welcome clippers and some run clipping programs. Read their rules on tagging and on character names before you post.
How it works
Get the session VOD
Copy the link to the finished stream: twitch.tv/videos/ and a number on Twitch, the replay or upload on YouTube, or the Kick VOD. A Twitch clip link (clips.twitch.tv/…) works as a source too.
Paste it and set the length
Confirm you have permission to use the stream and keep Gaming / stream as the content type. For RP, try Medium (1–3 min) when the scenes are long conversations. Auto suits GTA Online, where the moments are shorter.
Pick the scenes
Go through the ranked list. Open a clip to move its start back to the line that opens the scene, and fix names in the captions: character names and server slang are what a transcript gets wrong most often.
Export and post
On Pro, export 1080×1920 MP4s with no watermark and post them to TikTok, Shorts or Reels. Free accounts can still open every clip, change it and watch the result first.
What you get
- Clips from GTA 5 RP and GTA Online sessions on Twitch, YouTube and Kick

Why RP streams clip well, and where they go wrong
Roleplay streams are built from scenes: a traffic stop, a court case, a heist briefing, a fight over a parking spot. Each one has its own start and end, which is what a short clip needs. ClipX reads the whole session and ranks those scenes by how strong the hook and the payoff are.
The common mistake is starting too late. If a clip opens in the middle of an argument, the viewer scrolls away. Move the start back to the first line of the scene, and when the characters need an introduction, say who they are in the title line or the post caption.
GTA Online and story mode streams
Not every GTA 5 stream is RP. GTA Online lobbies, races, heists with friends and story-mode playthroughs give shorter, louder moments: a crash, a betrayal, a job that falls apart in the last second. Auto length suits these, because it lets each clip run until the reaction is over.
If the streamer plays in silence with music on, there is less for ClipX to find. Pick streamers who talk to chat or to their crew.
Framing a roleplay stream for a phone
RP streamers often keep a webcam in one corner and chat or a map overlay in another. Facecam + Video puts the webcam above the gameplay in a 9:16 frame. If the camera has no clear border, set the top crop yourself once in the editor.
When a scene is all dialogue between characters and the streamer's face adds little, Center Crop or Full Fit + Title keeps the game in view and leaves room for the captions.
Getting ready for GTA 6
GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) is due on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Clipping GTA 5 and RP streams now is practice for the same job: finding streamers who allow clips, cutting fast, and posting on a schedule. If you build that routine on GTA 5, launch week is just a new game in the same workflow.
Not affiliated with Rockstar Games
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have no part in ClipX: they do not endorse or sponsor it, and neither does any roleplay server. Grand Theft Auto and GTA are Take-Two trademarks, named here only to say which streams this page is about.
Frequently asked questions
Is the GTA 5 clip maker free?
You can process one video a day for free, up to 3 hours long, and edit and preview every clip ClipX finds. Exporting finished clips needs Pro: $4.99 for the first month, then $20/month, or $200/year. Pro has unlimited videos and exports, with no watermark.
Does it work with any RP server?
Yes. ClipX does not depend on a server or a mod. It works from the stream's audio, so any RP stream where people talk works. It does not read on-screen text, chat or server menus.
The captions spell character names wrong. Can I fix that?
Yes. Open the clip in the editor and correct the word in the captions before you export. Unusual names and server slang are the words a transcript is most likely to get wrong.
Are RP scenes too long for Shorts?
Some are. Choose Medium (1 to 3 minutes) or Long (3 to 5 minutes) to keep a full scene. YouTube Shorts takes videos up to 3 minutes, and TikTok takes longer ones, so post the longest scenes there.
Can I clip any RP streamer?
Only streamers who allow it. Check their channel rules or clipping program, tag them the way they ask, and follow the rules of each platform you post on. ClipX asks you to confirm you may use a video before it processes it.
Is ClipX connected to Rockstar Games or an RP server?
No. ClipX is an independent clipping tool. It is not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or any roleplay server.
