Stream Highlights Generator

Turn a finished livestream into a ranked set of highlight clips. Paste a YouTube Live replay, Twitch VOD or Kick VOD, and ClipX finds the moments, frames them for vertical and adds captions. Streams up to 3 hours long.

One free video a day. No credit card. Cancel any time.

Livestreams are long and uneven. A two-hour Q&A, a charity stream or a weekly show has quiet stretches and a few moments people would share. This page is for anyone who streams on YouTube Live, Twitch or Kick and wants those moments as short clips the same day, not after an evening of scrubbing.

ClipX reads the whole stream, not a sample of it. You get a ranked list of highlights from start to finish, edit the ones you like, and post them while the stream is still fresh.

How it works

1

Wait for the replay

When the stream ends, YouTube, Twitch and Kick save a replay. ClipX needs that finished replay: a stream that is still live, or one that is only scheduled, is refused.

2

Paste the replay link

YouTube watch, youtu.be and /live/ links, Twitch VOD links and Kick VOD links all work. Confirm that the stream is yours or that you have permission, then choose a content type and a clip length.

3

Get ranked highlights

ClipX transcribes the stream, reads a long one in overlapping parts so no moment falls through a gap, and ranks every candidate against the others. The strongest clips come first.

4

Edit and export

Trim, fix captions and pick a layout in the editor. Pro exports 1080×1920 MP4s with no watermark and can publish to YouTube directly; the free plan edits and previews.

What you get

  • YouTube Live replays (including /live/ links), Twitch VODs and Kick VODs
  • Streams up to 3 hours on every plan
  • Highlights ranked across the whole stream, not just its first part
  • Layouts for one host, two hosts, a facecam over a screen, or switching cameras
  • Editable word-by-word captions and an optional hook title

Built for long streams

A three-hour stream is a different job from a podcast episode. The good moments are far apart, the energy changes as the stream goes on, and the start is often a slow warm-up. ClipX takes sources up to 3 hours long on every plan, the free one included.

On a long stream, ClipX reads the transcript in overlapping parts, so a moment that spans two parts is not cut in half. Then it ranks all the candidates together. The best clip of the stream comes first, whether it happened in the first hour or the last.

Pick the layout that matches the stream

  • Face Zoom follows one host's face. Good for solo talk streams and Just Chatting.
  • Dual Face stacks two people, one above the other. Good for co-hosted shows and guests.
  • Auto (per shot) picks a framing for each shot when the stream switches cameras or goes from one person to two.
  • Facecam + Video puts a webcam on top and gameplay or a screen share below.
  • Full Fit + Title shows the whole frame with a title above it, for slides, charts or anything you cannot crop.

Limits to know before you paste

  • The stream must be finished, and public or unlisted. Members-only and subscriber-only replays cannot be opened.
  • Replays over 3 hours are refused on every plan. Cut a shorter highlight on the platform first.
  • Highlights come from what is said. A music stream or a silent build stream gives fewer clips than a talk-heavy one.
  • Uploaded files are limited to 500 MB, so a full stream is usually easier as a link.

If you stream on YouTube every week

ClipX Pro includes Autopilot for one YouTube channel. It checks the channel for new uploads, processes each one with your saved settings and puts the clips in a review queue. A live stream is picked up after it ends, once YouTube has saved the replay.

Frequently asked questions

Is the stream highlights generator free?

You can process one video a day for free, up to 3 hours long, and edit and preview every clip ClipX finds. Exporting finished clips needs Pro: $4.99 for the first month, then $20/month, or $200/year. Pro has unlimited videos and exports, with no watermark.

Which links work?

YouTube videos and live replays (watch, youtu.be and /live/ links), Twitch VODs and clip links, Kick VODs and clip links, and Vimeo links. You can also upload MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM files up to 500 MB.

How many highlights will I get?

It depends on the stream. A talk-heavy three-hour stream gives many more candidates than a quiet one. ClipX ranks them, so you can review the best ones first and skip the rest.

Can highlights be longer than a minute?

Yes. Auto lets each clip run until its moment ends, up to about 2:45. Medium (1–3 min) and Long (3–5 min) are there for longer segments, such as a full answer or a story.

Can ClipX post the highlights for me?

On Pro, ClipX can publish clips to YouTube directly. For TikTok and Instagram, export the MP4 and post it from your phone or computer.
