AI Video Highlights Generator
Paste a long video and get its highlights as short clips, ranked by how strong each moment is. ClipX reads the whole video, finds the moments that stand alone and cuts them cleanly, with captions.

A good highlight needs two things: the right moment, and cuts that make the moment complete. This page is for people with long spoken videos, such as conference talks, classes, panels, podcasts and streams, who want the best parts without watching everything again.
ClipX scores each candidate moment on how strong its opening is, whether it has a clear point and an ending, and how well it fits short-form platforms. You see the highlights ranked, best first, and you decide which ones to keep.
How it works
Add the video
Paste a YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch or Kick link, or upload a file up to 500 MB. Videos can run up to 3 hours on every plan.
Steer it if you want
Pick a content type (podcast, educational, comedy, gaming or IRL) and a clip length. Type topics in Focus Topics to get highlights about one subject.
Review the ranked highlights
Play each highlight in the preview. Keep it, skip it, or open it in the editor to trim it.
Export the set
Export the highlights you keep as 1080×1920 MP4s on Pro, with no watermark. The free plan edits and previews.
What you get
- Highlights ranked by opening strength, clarity and platform fit
- Cuts on sentence boundaries, with a little room before and after
- Extend any highlight up to 60 seconds earlier or later
- Captions, and layouts for one or two speakers
- Sources up to 3 hours
What counts as a highlight
ClipX looks for moments that a stranger would understand and want to share: a clear claim, a surprising number, a story with a turn, a funny exchange, a strong answer. It avoids moments that only make sense because of something said much earlier.
Each highlight starts at the beginning of a sentence and ends after its point lands, not in the middle of a word. If ClipX cut too early or too late, the editor lets you move either edge by up to 60 seconds.
Videos it works well on, and videos it does not
- Works well: talks, classes, panels, podcasts, interviews, commentary, vlogs and streams with talking.
- Works less well: music performances, sports footage without commentary, and silent tutorials or screen recordings. ClipX finds highlights from speech, so with no speech it has little to rank.
- Short sources: a video must be at least 30 seconds long, and longer sources give more highlights to choose from.
Highlights, not a text summary
Some tools write a text summary of a video. ClipX gives you the video version: the highlights are real clips of the original, so the speaker's voice, timing and face stay in. You can post them on TikTok, Reels, Shorts or LinkedIn as they are.
If you publish a video every week, ClipX Pro can watch one YouTube channel and make highlights of each new upload on its own, ready for you in a review queue.
Frequently asked questions
Is the highlights generator free?
You can process one video a day for free, up to 3 hours long, and edit and preview every clip ClipX finds. Exporting finished clips needs Pro: $4.99 for the first month, then $20/month, or $200/year. Pro has unlimited videos and exports, with no watermark.
How many highlights does it find?
It depends on the video's length and how much happens in it. A long, talk-heavy video gives more candidates. They are ranked, so the best ones are at the top.
Can I get highlights about one topic?
Yes. Type the topics in Focus Topics when you add the video, for example "pricing" or "funny moments", and ClipX favours moments about them.
Does it work on sports videos?
Only on sports videos with commentary or talking. ClipX finds moments from speech; it does not detect goals or plays on screen.
Can ClipX post the highlights?
On Pro, ClipX can publish to YouTube directly. For TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn, export the MP4 and post it yourself.
