Game clip maker
Minecraft Clip Maker
Paste a Minecraft VOD and get 9:16 clips for Shorts, TikTok and Reels. ClipX picks out the scares, the deaths and the finished builds from what the streamer says, puts the webcam above the world and captions every word.
Free plan to try it: process, edit and preview your clips. Exports need Pro.
Minecraft streams come in many shapes: a long survival world, a Hardcore run where one death ends everything, a speedrun attempt, a server event with dozens of players. This page is for creators who want short clips from their own VODs and for clippers who edit for a Minecraft streamer.
The game is slow by design. A builder can spend an hour on one roof, and a survival session can be mostly mining with chat in the background. The minutes worth posting, such as the creeper behind the streamer or the step into lava, arrive without warning and are easy to miss when you skim.
ClipX finds them through what the streamer says. It transcribes the whole session and ranks the moments that have a buildup and a reaction, so a scream at a creeper and the explanation after it end up in the same clip.
How it works
Get the session as a VOD or a file
End the broadcast and let Twitch, YouTube or Kick store it, then copy the VOD link. If the session was recorded locally, upload the recording instead: MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM, up to 500 MB.
Paste the link and confirm
Paste it into ClipX and confirm the stream is yours, or that the creator allowed you to clip it. Pick Gaming / stream if ClipX did not set it from the Minecraft category.
Read through the ranked moments
ClipX lists its strongest picks first. In a Minecraft VOD, deaths, near misses, finished builds and boss fights tend to rise to the top, as long as the streamer talked through them.
Fix mob and item names, then export
Mob, item and server names are where captions slip. Correct those words, trim any quiet mining from the start, and on Pro export a 1080x1920 MP4.

Minecraft moments worth clipping
Minecraft has Survival, Creative, Adventure and Spectator modes, plus Hardcore, a Survival variant locked to Hard difficulty with no respawn. Survival and Hardcore give the most clips, because health and hunger put something at risk. The long path leads through a stronghold to the End, where the Ender Dragon waits.
- A Hardcore death, from the mistake to the moment the run is over.
- The Ender Dragon fight, especially the last hits and the exit portal opening.
- A near miss: a creeper blast, a fall or a lava step that the streamer survives by half a heart.
- A build reveal in Creative, with the streamer walking the camera through the finished piece.
- Server events and minigames, when a group of players argue, team up or turn on each other.
- A rare find after a long mining trip, and the reaction that follows it.
Layout and the Minecraft HUD
Webcam overlays on Minecraft streams usually sit in a corner of the 16:9 capture. Facecam + Video puts that camera at the top of the vertical frame and the world below it. If the streamer uses a borderless cam, set the top crop by hand once per clip. Face Zoom works for talking segments, such as a chat Q&A between builds.
The default Minecraft HUD is anchored to the bottom. The hotbar sits at the bottom center, with health, hunger and the experience bar just above it. On Java Edition, chat opens in the bottom left. Boss bars appear at the top center, and a server scoreboard shows on the right side. Players can change the GUI scale, so check each stream. Keep captions out of the bottom strip: the middle position clears the hotbar and, in Facecam + Video, sits between the face and the game.
Matching length to the moment
Minecraft moments vary in length more than in most games. A creeper scare is over in seconds; a dragon fight or a base tour can take several minutes. Auto sizes each clip to its moment, up to about 2:45, and is a good start for a mixed survival session.
- Short (under 1 min): jump scares, deaths, a quick fail or a funny line from a friend on the server.
- Medium (1-3 min): the final phase of the dragon fight, a fight against a crowd of mobs, one minigame round.
- Long (3-5 min): a full build reveal or the last minutes of a Hardcore run, for viewers who want the whole arc.
Java, Bedrock and server streams
Minecraft comes in two main editions, Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, and they look slightly different on screen. Chat is the clearest example: bottom left on Java, top left on Bedrock. Before you set one caption position for a batch of clips, check which edition the stream used.
Server streams bring a different problem: many voices. When a group plays together over voice chat, the transcript holds every speaker. ClipX ranks the players' voices above game sounds, but in a crowded call the strongest clips are the ones where the streamer reacts clearly. Check the names of other players in the captions before you post, and turn on Bleep swear words if the call gets loud.
Ask before you clip
Your own Minecraft VODs are yours to clip. For someone else's channel, get the creator's yes first and follow any rules they set on tagging or where clips may appear. Server streams often show other players too, so take care with their names and voices. ClipX asks you to confirm ownership or permission before it processes a video.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Minecraft clip maker free?
There is a free plan to try it: process a Minecraft stream, edit the clips and preview them. To export, you need Pro, at $4.99 for the first month, then $20/month or $200/year. Pro clips have no watermark.
Can ClipX clip a silent building stream?
Not well. ClipX finds moments through speech and reactions, not by watching blocks go down. A quiet build session over music gives very few clips. If the streamer talks through the build or the reveal, those parts get ranked.
Will captions cover the hotbar?
Only if you leave them low. Captions snap to a high, middle or low position. Drag them to the middle in the editor and the hotbar, health and hunger stay visible.
Can it handle a ten-hour survival stream?
Yes, on Pro. Streams up to 12 hours are processed in parts of up to 3 hours. Pick a part, wait for the clips, then paste the link again and choose the next part.
Can I send Minecraft clips straight to YouTube Shorts?
Pro can publish clips directly to YouTube Shorts. TikTok and Instagram Reels take the exported MP4, posted from their own apps.
Is ClipX an official Minecraft tool?
No. ClipX is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.
