Head-to-head comparison

StreamLadder vs Eklipse

Choose Eklipse if you want clips found and queued for you after each stream, with detection tuned to gameplay events, chat and audio. Choose StreamLadder if you want a hands-on vertical editor with Twitch emotes, a free tier that still exports, and a cheaper AI plan on yearly billing. Both handle Twitch and Kick.

Facts checked on 2026-11-04 on each vendor's own site. ClipX is not affiliated with StreamLadder or Eklipse.

What is StreamLadder?

StreamLadder started as a way to turn a Twitch clip into a TikTok, and its clip editor is still the center of the product. You import a clip from Twitch, Kick, Trovo or YouTube, pick or customise a layout, and add captions, stickers, Twitch emotes, chat reactions, zooms, music and text to speech.

Its AI side is ClipGPT, on the Creator plan and up. ClipGPT processes a whole stream from Twitch, Kick or an upload of up to 10 GB, returns up to 30 clips per stream, frames the facecam and writes captions, hashtags and hooks. Around that sit extra streamer tools: MontageMaker, a Twitch Schedule Maker and EmoteMaker.

What is Eklipse?

Eklipse is built to clip streams for you. You connect Twitch, Kick or YouTube once, and after a stream it scores each moment from gameplay events such as kills, wins and achievements, audio spikes such as laughter, and chat activity such as emote spikes. It says it supports more than 3,000 games, with detection tuned per game category.

Its Content Agent runs after a stream ends: it pulls the best moments, reframes them to 9:16, writes captions and queues them for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels for you to approve. Eklipse also clips console streams from Xbox and PS5 that go live on Twitch or YouTube, and it has a "clip it" voice command.

Pricing, tier by tier

As of November 4, 2026, StreamLadder has four tiers. Free costs nothing and exports at 720p and 30 fps. Starter is $15/month or $150/year and adds 1080p at 60 fps, the full clip editor, captions and effects, and scheduled posts, but no AI clipping. Creator is $27/month or $270/year and adds unlimited ClipGPT. Pro is $39/month or $390/year and adds 4K at 60 fps, posting to X and editor seats with permissions. The yearly price equals ten months.

Eklipse lists two paid plans. Premium starts at $24.99/month and includes unlimited AI clipping, exports up to 1080p at 60 fps with no watermark, captions, AI jump cuts, memes, effects and more than 1,000 templates. Premium Pro is $39.99/month and adds Live Clipping, Posting Companion, Custom Highlights, Quality Max and Private Stream. Annual plans exist and add 1080p lossless export and 90-day clip storage, but we could not find an annual price on its pages.

For AI clipping month to month, Eklipse Premium ($24.99) is a little cheaper than StreamLadder Creator ($27). On yearly billing, StreamLadder Creator works out to $22.50 a month.

How highlights are found

Eklipse is the more gameplay-aware of the two. It combines in-game events (kills, wins, achievements), audio peaks (excitement, laughter) and chat behaviour (emote spikes, message speed) into one score per moment, and it says its detection is tuned per game category. That suits shooters and battle royales, where a play can matter even when nobody speaks.

StreamLadder ClipGPT looks across the full VOD for funny reactions, chat interactions and intense highlights, then hands back up to 30 edited clips with captions, hashtags and hooks. It also lets you search the transcript for words such as "haha" to jump to a moment, which helps when you remember what was said.

Editing and stream extras

StreamLadder gives you more manual control. Its editor has default and custom layouts, Twitch emotes, animated stickers and GIFs, TikTok and Instagram reaction overlays, text to speech, music and sound effects, AI word censoring, AI hook titles and silence removal. Its free tier keeps working for simple vertical edits, and basic editing never adds a watermark.

Eklipse leans on templates and AI. Its editor trims clips, adjusts captions, swaps templates and changes highlights, and AI Edit reframes to 9:16 while keeping the crosshair, killfeed and facecam in view. Paid "Pro Edits" are also offered for creators who want more polish.

Automation after a stream

Eklipse already runs on its own: Content Agent clips each finished Twitch, Kick or YouTube stream and puts the clips in a queue for your approval. StreamLadder marks both of its Auto Pilot features, finding clips after a stream and posting them, as coming soon on its Pro plan. Until then, you start ClipGPT yourself.

Posting and apps

Both post to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. StreamLadder needs at least Starter to post and schedule, allows unlimited connected accounts on paid tiers, and adds X on Pro. Eklipse posts through its Content Planner and lets you download any clip. Each has an iPhone and an Android app.

A third option: ClipX

StreamLadder and Eklipse are made for streamers. ClipX works from the VOD after the stream: paste the twitch.tv/videos link or a Kick VOD link (live broadcasts are refused, so wait until the stream ends), and it transcribes what you and your friends say, ranks the moments and cuts captioned 9:16 clips. It also takes YouTube videos and live replays, Vimeo links and file uploads. Each run starts with a check that the stream is yours or that you have the owner's permission.

A free plan lets you try it (process, edit and preview; exports need Pro). Pro is $4.99 for the first month, then $20/month or $200/year.

  • Long sessions: Pro handles streams up to 12 hours by clipping a part of up to 3 hours at a time; paste the link again for the next part.
  • A Twitch VOD filed under a game gets the Gaming / stream rules automatically: your voice ranks above the game's characters, and clips run about 20 seconds or more so the setup and reaction both fit.
  • Facecam + Video finds a webcam box with clear edges and places it above the gameplay.
  • Every caption word is editable, so a misheard gamer tag or map name can be fixed before export.
  • Honest limit: ClipX picks from speech and reactions, not from kills, the scoreboard or the minimap, so a quiet clutch play with no voice reaction can be missed. Subscriber-only VODs cannot be opened.
