VALORANT Clip Maker
Cut VALORANT broadcasts into 9:16 videos for Shorts, TikTok and Reels. From a saved VOD, ClipX ranks the rounds where the streamer talks and reacts, frames the webcam above the gameplay and captions every word.
Free plan to try it: process, edit and preview your clips. Exports need Pro.
Two groups use this page. Streamers who want short videos from their own VALORANT sessions, and clippers who cut those sessions for a streamer who has agreed to it.
VALORANT is a 5v5 tactical shooter. One side attacks and tries to plant the Spike at a site, the other defends, and a match goes to the first team that wins 13 rounds. That structure makes clipping slow by hand. Most of a round is quiet: buying, walking to a site, holding an angle. Then a fight decides it in a few seconds. Over a long session you get hundreds of rounds, and only a handful have a moment people would watch twice.
What separates those rounds is usually the voice: a callout, a "one left, I got this", a scream when a play works. ClipX works from that. It transcribes the VOD, finds rounds with a clear build-up and a payoff, and lists them by strength.
How it works
Copy the VOD once the match night ends
Live broadcasts are refused, so wait until the stream is over. Copy the Twitch VOD (twitch.tv/videos/ and a number), the YouTube live replay, or the Kick VOD.
Paste the link and say you may use it
Paste the VOD into ClipX and tick that you own the stream or got its owner's OK. A VOD filed under VALORANT on Twitch is treated as Gaming / stream without any extra setting.
Pick the rounds worth posting
Clips arrive ranked. Watch the top ones first and skip any round that needs the score or the economy explained before it makes sense.
Correct agent names, then export
Agent, ability and map names are where transcripts slip, so fix those words in the captions. On Pro, export each clip as a 1080x1920 MP4.
What you get
- 1080x1920 clips from a Twitch, YouTube or Kick VOD, or a file of up to 500 MB
- Facecam + Video: webcam in the top half, the match in the bottom half
- Selection that favours the streamer's voice over in-game agent lines
- Every round keeps the build-up and the reaction
- Captions synced to each spoken word, each word editable
- Auto, Short, Medium or Long clip lengths
VALORANT moments that make good clips
Rounds are short and self-contained, which is good news for clips: a single round often has a beginning, a middle and an end. These are the rounds that tend to rank well when the streamer is talking:
- A clutch: the streamer is the last player alive and narrates the comeback.
- A Spike defuse or plant with seconds left on the timer.
- A strategy called before the round that works, or falls apart, exactly as said.
- An ace or a multi-kill with a big reaction.
- A whiffed shot or a lost duel the streamer cannot stop talking about.
- Banter with a duo or a full stack over voice comms.
Layout and caption position for the VALORANT HUD
A typical VALORANT stream is the full 16:9 game with a webcam box placed over a corner. Pick Facecam + Video: ClipX puts the webcam at the top of the vertical frame and the crosshair area below it. A camera with a clean, bordered box is found automatically; with a borderless camera you set the top crop yourself for each clip.
By default the minimap sits in the top left, the round timer and team score run along the top centre, the kill feed shows in the top right, and health, abilities and ammo sit along the bottom. Players can resize or shift some of these, so look at the streamer's screen before you set captions. In the stacked layout, middle placement keeps captions off the bottom ability bar and away from the crosshair. Full Fit + Title is the better choice for an overview shot, such as a replay or a scoreboard the streamer is reading out.
Clip length for rounds and matches
Leave the length on Auto for most VALORANT clips. Each clip then follows its moment (2:45 at most), and in Gaming / stream mode the talk before a fight and the reaction after it both stay in, with a target of 20 seconds or longer.
Choose Short, under a minute, for a single duel or a quick clutch. Medium, one to three minutes, fits a whole round with the buy talk and the post-plant. Long (3 to 5 minutes) is for a run of rounds that tells one story, like a comeback from a big deficit, and plays better on YouTube than on short-form feeds.
Voice comms, swearing and VCT watch parties
Some streamers play with teammates' voices audible on stream. Their words get transcribed and captioned too, so think about whether the people you hear are fine with appearing in a clip. Heated rounds also bring swearing: the editor's Bleep swear words switch beeps or mutes each one before you post.
VALORANT Champions Tour broadcasts are produced by Riot Games and its partners. When a streamer co-streams a VCT match, the organizer's co-streaming terms apply to that broadcast, and they may not allow reposting clips of it. Check with the streamer first if you want watch-party clips, and build the clip around the streamer's reactions rather than the pro footage.
Only clip VALORANT streams you are allowed to use
Your own VODs are yours to clip. For anyone else's, ask first: plenty of streamers are glad to have clippers and share rules on tagging and where to post, and some say no. Before ClipX processes a link, you confirm that you own the video or have the owner's permission.

Frequently asked questions
Can I try the VALORANT clip maker for free?
Yes. There is a free plan to try it (process, edit and preview; exports need Pro). Pro is $4.99 for the first month, then $20/month or $200/year, with no ClipX watermark on exports.
Does ClipX spot aces from the kill feed?
No. Nothing on screen is read: not the kill feed, not the scoreboard. Moments are ranked by speech and reaction, so an ace with a loud reaction is found and a silent one probably is not.
Can ClipX handle a long ranked grind?
Pro accepts streams up to 12 hours. Each run covers a part of up to 3 hours. When one part is done, paste the VOD again and choose the next stretch.
Where can I post VALORANT clips from ClipX?
YouTube Shorts gets direct publishing on Pro. TikTok and Instagram Reels need the exported MP4, posted by you in each app.
Is ClipX an official Riot Games tool?
No. It is an independent product; Riot Games did not build it and does not back it.
